Cardiocrinum cathayanum, belonging to the Cardiocrinum genus in the Liliaceae family, is a perennial herb under national second-class protection. It features dense, white flowers with high ornamental value, suitable for indoor decoration and cut flower arrangements. Its bulbs and fruits are medicinal, known for their lung-cleansing, cough-relieving, detoxifying, and blood-stasis dispersing effects. In Shennongjia it is distributed in valley forests at elevations of 800 to 1,500 meters.
