Polytrichum commune

Polytrichum commune is a species of moss from the genus Polytrichum, in the family Polytrichaceae, 3-20cm tall.

The dried plants, ground into powder, can be used to treat trauma and stop bleeding, also having curative effect on pulmonary tuberculosis when boiled with sugar. Some clinical record can be found in the pharmacopoeias in Guizhou and Sichuan provinces.

Plaques of Polytrichum commune are distributed in the swamp and the shade of trees within the ring road in Dajiuhu Wetland.
