Polygonum macrophyllum is a perennial herb 8-30cm tall, flowering from June to August and fruiting from August to October. Its root and stem are commonly used in Tibetan medicine to treat stomach diseases, including gastrorrhagia. It often blooms in large stretches, so it is an important species for the sea of flowers in Dajiuhu Wetland. It is distributed within the ring road around the wetland and at the edges of the lakes.
