Ligusticum sinense

Ligusticum sinense is a perennial herb, 1-2m tall. It flowers from July to August and fruits from August to September. The stems are purplish red and the plant has a distinctive odor. The oil extracted from the seeds has sedative, analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.
