Guide Map for Popular Science Education

Located in the southwest of Shennongjia Forestry District, Shennongjia UNESCO Global Geopark, with a total area of 1,022.72 km2, was approved to be one of the members of UGG in September 2013. It is a typical geopark with integrating tectonic geomorphology and mountain ecosystems. The geographical coordinates are 109°56′02″~110°36′55″ east longitude, 31°21′56″~31°43′13″ north latitude.

The exposures in Shennongjia Area include standard geological profiles of Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic together with all the stratigraphic units from Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic, leading to the complete geochronology, besides, the mountain landscapes, karst landforms and ancient glacial erosion relics abound in gifts of nature.
