Shennongjia Dajiuhu Wetland Museum, officially opened in 2016, was the first wetland museum in Hubei Province. The museum features the ecological value and unique charm of the Dajiuhu Wetland to the public.
By selecting the unique subalpine peat moss wetland landscape of Dajiuhu, the museum adopts a large-scale and open-style simulation approach to allow visitors to understand the wetland through experience and interaction. The peat column is the core exhibit of the museum, which gives an in-depth analysis of the important function of the Dajiuhu Wetland’s peatland in recording the paleoclimate evolution in central China. At the same time, it directly and scientifically demonstrates the meaning of the "Natural Archives of the Palaeoclimate Evolution in Central China" and "Ark Wetland", which Dajiuhu is often referred to as.
