Ranodon shihi

Ranodon shihi is an amphibian of the genus Ranodon, family Hynobiidae, an endemic species of China only distributed in the Qinling-Daba mountains. It is a primitive amphibian that has lived in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent since before the Himalayan orogeny, and is of great value in the study of animal classification and phylogeny.
