Carabus davidis, a species of the genus Carabus in the family Carabidae, is a National Class II protected wildlife species endemic to China. The adult measures 30–40 mm in body length. It is nocturnal, primarily preying on Lepidoptera, Diptera insects, and small mollusks. Commonly inhabits areas under bricks, stones, leaf litter, or shallow soil layers, exhibiting phototaxis and thanatosis. In Shennongjia, it is frequently observed active on plants.
