The Black Purple Emperor Butterfly (Sasakia funebris), a species under the genus Sasakia in the Nymphalidae family, is a National Class II Protected wildlife species in China. This large butterfly has a wingspan of 90–110 mm, with its body and wings displaying a black-purple coloration. The Black Purple Emperor Butterfly completes one generation per year, with adults emerging in July. Female adults of this species are exceptionally rare.
