Elliot's Laughingthrush (Garrulax maxims), a species of the Garrulax genus in the Leiothrichidae family, is a National Class II Protected wildlife species and endemic to China. It inhabits mountainous areas, forests, and shrublands. These birds form small groups to forage in the undergrowth of open secondary forests and thickets, as well as bamboo groves, feeding on insects, plant fruits, and seeds. It is one of the most common laughingthrush species in Shennongjia.
