Blackthroat (Luscinia obscura), a species of the Luscinia genus in the Muscicapidae family, is a National Class II protected wildlife species in China. The male has a deep black throat and bluish upperparts. It inhabits broad-leaved forest shrubs, coniferous forests, or bamboo thickets, often concealed under bushes and quickly retreating to shaded undergrowth when disturbed. It is primarily insectivorous. In Shennongjia it was first discovered in May 2021 in the Taiziya area.
