Asiatic golden cat (Catopuma temminckii), a member of the Felidae family, is a national Class I protected wildlife species in China. Its appearance strikingly resembles an enlarged domestic cat, with a body length of 75-100 cm. The coat color varies significantly, predominantly displaying chestnut-red or reddish-brown hues. Typically solitary and nocturnal, this agile predator primarily hunts rodents, birds, hares, and small deer species. Its habitual habitats include tropical and subtropical moist evergreen broadleaf forests, montane evergreen forests, and deciduous woodlands.
