Clouded leopard (Neofelis nebulosa), a member of the Felidae family, is a national Class I protected wildlife species. It is the smallest member of the Pantherinae subfamily. Clouded leopards are adept climbers, using their long, thick tails to maintain balance, and are nocturnal animals. They often lie in wait on tree branches to ambush prey, feeding on small animals such as birds, rodents, and hares. They inhabit mountainous and hilly evergreen forests at elevations of 1,600 to 3,000 meters, most commonly found in pristine evergreen forests.
