Tadorna ferruginea

Tadorna ferruginea is a medium-sized swimming bird of 60cm in length, weighing about 1.5kg, slightly bigger than the domestic duck. Its whole body is russet brown, with obvious white and copper-green spots on the wings. It is alert and difficult to approach, and has been banned from breeding.
