Cuckoo (Cuculus micropterus) is a medium-sized bird of the genus Cuculus, family Cuculidae, often hidden in the woods, not easy to see. The cuckoo's call is exceptionally loud, with four voices at one time. Since its call can be heard in April in central and southern China and the Yangtze River basin, corresponding to the time of sowing, it is also called sowing bird in China.
