Asiatic black bear (Ursus thibetanus), a large mammal of the genus Ursus, family Ursidae, is a Class II protected species of China. It has long, shiny black fur, a white chin and a V-shaped white collar on its chest. It is sharp-nosed and sharp-eared, but known as the "black blind" because of its poor vision. It has a mixed diet, hibernation habit, and is basically a solitary animal. They rarely attack humans, but are very aggressive with cubs. If you encounter a single cub in the wild, its parents may be nearby, so keep your distance and be careful not to be injured.
