Shennongjia National Park (Candidate) Designated as World Best Protected Area

On July 8, the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2023 kicked off in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou.

During the event, at a themed sub-forum of “Preserving Beauty of Nature and Promoting Green Development: Towards a High-Quality System of Natural Protected Areas” jointly organized by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA for short, also the National Park Administration) and the Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, the NFGA and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) China Office awarded plaques of “World Best Protected Area” to management agencies of 13 Chinese natural protected areas that had been inscribed on the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas, including the Shennongjia National Park (Candidate) and the Hanma National Nature Reserve in Daxing’anling, Inner Mongolia. At the same time, the NFGA announced a list of award winners for the 2023 excellent video award of a program titled “Into the Mysterious Land (Mi Jing Zhi Yan).” The work “Cozy Life of a Family of Three Yellow-Throated Martens” submitted by the Shennongjia National Park (Candidate) won the third prize in a likes collecting activity this year titled “Beautiful Videos in Your Memory” of the program.
