Himalayan swiftlet (Aerodramus brevirostris) is a small bird with a body length of about 13cm. Its upper body is smoky gray. Its wings are very long and protrude clearly from the end of the tail when folded. The lower body is grayish brown or brown, with brown or black plumage below the chest. It usually nests on the rock wall in caves.
During the day, it often flies in groups over the habitat to hunt and makes a "di-di-di-di" call while flying. The call is monotonous and hurried, sounding noisy. It mainly feeds on various moths and flying insects such as various Hymenoptera and Diptera insects. It can forage in the air while flying.
